Austria July 2013

There's already one  "I Robot" VW XL1 registered in Austria
Zoeland Edition

Although down 23% regarding June, this month the Austrian EV market scored 99 units sold, the second best result of the year, with the Renault Zoe, once again, leading the charge with 73 units sold, pushing the EV share up to 0,18%.

Apart from the brilliant result of the french hatch, there's really not much to say, just that the two seater Twizy consolidated its #2 spot.

  1. Nice for Renault. It's kind of weird, since Renault doesn't have strong position in Austria. It's not german:)

    1. The Zoe success in Austria took me by surprise too, especially considering that it has a better market share here (53%) than in its own home market (45% share in France).

    2. And Leaf in Austria is very weak (31 units / half a year). but still this numbers are marginal.

    3. Yep, but still, it's strange that Nissan can't get even near the sales of the Zoe as it's the case in other countries, like Germany, Spain or Switzerland.

By the way, i'm curious to see how the BMW i3 behaves here, something tells me that the Zoe will finally have serious competition then.

  2. First, Nissan announced a new version and a new price which ist available from August on, so I guess people are waiting. The corresponding numbers are 17 units in each, 8 and 9.2013.
The registration of a Tesla in 7.2013 was a Roadster, not a Model S. They came first in 9.2013 with 14 units !

  3. Yep, for now the Zoe has this market covered, but the Nissan Leaf is getting menacingly closer, so the next months can see a change here.
